Allen Brown
Hear it next month! Playback 2

Equipment: TML Studios, with 40 tracks ADAT, 24 tracks Otari, Soundtracs ADE 48 board, lots of pro gear from here to eternity...

Allen's song "Rush Hour" is an instrumental progressive rock/fusion number that could best be described as a no fear track. No fear, because it would work great as background music for skiers or snowboarders tearing up the slopes, but also because he probably had no fear that I would find anything wrong with this track. The song is a great showcase for his considerable talent on the guitar, as well as his engineer Richie Corsello's chops.

Try as I might, I can't find anything that I'd change or do differently on this track. All of the sounds are exactly what they should be. The panning is right on the money, and the effects have been kept to a minimum, which is as they should be for this tune. All in all, this is a totally professional job. As you'll see by the equipment list, this was in fact done in a pro studio. Hey, nobody ever said Readers' Tapes had to be done at home, they just have to be done by readers!
